- Many Uses Of Priority Shopping Carts
Did you know that one of the first shopping carts was invented back in 1937 by Sylvan Goldman? He was the owner of a supermarket chain in Oklahoma! He wanted to invent a way to encourage customers to carry more groceries, so the shopping cart was born. Well…kind of. The first design was inspired by a folding chair in his office when he had the idea to add a basket to it. Thankfully the design has drastically improved since then.
Today, we see them everywhere we go, and it's not hard to understand why. They save us time, energy, and money. In fact, these are the same carts we use here in our own facility. There’s the Platform Truck that comes with or without a second-level basket and the traditional shopping cart that comes with either one basket or two.
About Priority Shopping Carts
Platform Truck

Let’s start with the platform truck. These carts are heavy-duty and durable; made of metal with a zinc plating topped off with a protective varnish. The flatbed of the one-level platform truck can hold up to 200 kg while the two-level platform truck can hold up to 140kg at the base, and 60kg within the basket! The great thing about the two-level platform truck is that you can hold smaller items in the basket, and if you don’t plan on using it you can fold it down to allow for more space. With this cart's durability and weight capacity, you can easily transfer large, heavy items which makes them the perfect cart for parts departments, hardware stores, grocery stores, and warehouses.
Shopping Carts

Next are the shopping carts. They have a grey powder coat with a scratch-resistant finish to handle the bumps and bruises of daily use. And if that’s not enough they also feature blue polypropylene corner bumpers to further protect the carts and the objects they may bump into. The single-basket cart is able to hold up to 30kg on top and 45kg on the bottom, while the two-basket cart can hold 35kg on top and 40kg on the bottom. These carts are great for transporting smaller items with their deep baskets and narrow mesh to keep them from slipping through. This makes them a great fit for supermarkets, small warehouses, and shops.
The rear casters are locked in place while the front casters swivel smoothly allowing for precise steering. And if you have multiples of the same cart, they can be nested together for easy organization in order to save storage space. We even carry the replacement parts for the casters and bumpers, just in case your cart sees a bit too much wear and tear.
